Top 10 Insanely Fast Aircraft That Will Blow Your Mind

History Of Aviation has passed two millenniums this year.We have witnessed some insanely first aircraft through this long time. Now we have crossed the mile stone of 9 Mach.Lets checkout top ten insane speed star of sky:

1.NASA X-43:

With a top speed of 7310 mph ,the NASA X-45 is the fastest aircraft of the planet. This was an hyper-sonic aircraft developed by by NASA as part of its Hyper-X program.Only three of this were made for the project. Two of them were destroyed during flight tests. The last flight achieved an airspeed record that stands to this day, reaching a speed of approximately 7,310 MPH.This aircraft had a Hydrogen fueled engine.

2.North America X-15:

With a top speed of around 4520 mph the North America X-15 is in the second position of the fastest aircraft list.It was a hypersonic rocket-powered aircraft operated by the United States Air Force and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration as part of the X-plane series of experimental aircraft. The X-15 set speed and altitude records in the 1960s.It was major success to outer space flight research.

3.Boeing X-51 WaveRider:

Boeing X-51 WaveRider is a hyper-sonic jet manufactured by Boeing. It can fly with a maximum speed of 3900 mph which makes it the #3 fastest aircraft of the planet. The X-51 program was a cooperative effort by the United States Air Force, DARPA, NASA, Boeing, and Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne. The X-51 uses JP-7 fuel for the SJY61 Scramjet, carrying some 270 lb on board. The most incredible fact is this aircraft needs no pilot to fly.

4.SR-71 Blackbird:

Sr-71 Blackbird was a long range high speed aircraft Manufactured by Lockheed,Skunk Works division. It was shockingly fast for it's building period. This retired flying marvel could fly at a maximum speed of 2275 mph.The SR-71 was powered by two Pratt & Whitney J58 (company designation JT11D-20) axial-flow turbojet engines.NASA operated the two last airworthy Blackbirds until 1999.Many types of fuels were used to power the SR-71 Blackbird.

5.Lockheed YF-12:

Lcokheed Yf-12 can fly at a maximum speed of 2275 mph.It was a prototype interceptor aircraft evaluated by United States Air Force.Lockheed YF-12 is the world's largest manned interceptor to date.It was operated by two pilots.NASA also operated this aircraft. It was powered by low-volatility type of fuel, known as JP7.It was designed by Clarence "Kelly" Johnson.Only three units were build.Every unit costed $15-18 million. It could fly maximum 3,000 miles in a flight.

6.Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-25:

Popularly known as Mig-25 the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-25 is one of the highest-flying military aircraft. It can fly at a maximum speed of 2190 mph.It can fly even faster but chances of permanent engine damage can be occurred for that.It is the last air craft designed by legendary fighter aircraft designer Mikhail Gurevich. With a production number of 1186 it is also one of the most build fighter jets.It is one of the highest-flying military aircraft, and the second fastest after the SR-71 reconnaissance aircraft. It was built primarily using stainless steel, one of the few combat aircraft to do so.

7.Bell X-2 "Starbuster":

At the #7 of this list this is Bell X-2 "Starbuster".It could fly at a maximum speed of 2094 mph.Designed and developed by Bell Aircraft the Bell X-2 "Starbuster" was a research aircraft designed to probe the supersonic region. This aircraft was operated by two pilots. The X-2 had delivered valuable research data on high-speed aerodynamic heat build-up and extreme high-altitude flight conditions. Not only did the X-2 push the envelope of manned flight to speeds, altitudes and temperatures beyond any other aircraft at the time, it pioneered throttleable rocket motors in U.S. aircraft

8.North American XB-70 Valkyrie:

With a maximum speed of 2056 mph the North American XB-70 Valkyrie is at #8.This expensive project costed over $1.5 billion for building two air crafts ,makes it one of the most expensive jets ever developed.Although one of the XB-70 Valkyrie was destroyed by a collision with another jet in mid-air.Its high speed made the aircraft difficult to see on the radar displays and its high-altitude flight could not be matched by any contemporary Soviet fighter. So it was then considered as the nuclear armed aircraft.

9.Mikoyan MiG-31:

The Mikoyan MiG-31 (Russian: Микоян МиГ-31; NATO reporting name: Foxhound) is a supersonic interceptor aircraft developed for use by the Soviet Air Forces. Its maximum speed is 1836 mph. The aircraft was designed by the Mikoyan design bureau as a replacement for the earlier MiG-25 "Foxbat"; the MiG-31 is based on, and shares design elements with the MiG-25.The Russian Defence Ministry expects the MiG-31 to remain in service until at least 2030.It has a two seated cockpit.

10.McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle:

McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle is among the most successful modern fighters, with over 100 victories and no losses in aerial combat, with the majority of the kills scored by the Israeli Air Force. It can fly at a maximum speed of 1050 mph.The F-15 was originally envisioned as a pure air superiority aircraft. Its design included a secondary ground-attack capability.A variety of air-to-air weaponry can be carried by the F-15. An automated weapon system enables the pilot to release weapons effectively and safely, using the head-up display and the avionics and weapons controls located on the engine throttles or control stick. When the pilot changes from one weapon system to another, visual guidance for the required weapon automatically appears on the head-up display.
